After breakfast Tanya (from CDC - Russian but based in Washington), Vilma, Michael (India), Abhinav, Zoe (China), Fite, Divya (India) and I headed out and walked some of the red line that takes you round all the key places to see in Ekaterinburg.
Firstly we headed out across the river where we bumped into a group of the friendliest people out - they were walking round Ekaterinberg with the mission of cheering people up and making them smile given it was the weekend. It turned out they were a group of people who had met through a Social Networking site. They certainly made us smile!!
There are lots of nice buildings around Ekaterinburg (and lots of not so nice ones too).
In a tunnel under the road there was a lot of street art dedicated to a famous Russian musician, Viktor Tsoi
We ended up going into the mall I had visited on Thursday where we stopped and had a coffee
We then walked back to the hotel and realised that we had not had lunch and it was already 4.00 p.m. so we stopped and had a late lunch/early dinner at a restaurant that was themed like a fire station. The food was good.
Now everyone is back in their rooms having an early night before our first meeting tomorrow morning at 9.30 a.m. where we will find out the plans for the next four weeks. Then on Monday morning the works starts.
