Monday, 1st July our day started with a meeting with a Ekaterinburg entrepreneur in his office on the 42nd floor of the tallest building here - what a view!!!
It was a very interesting meeting and Evgene served us some great coffee - best I have had in my whole time here!!
On the way back from the meeting we went to a Japanese restaurant for lunch that the rest of the team has discovered. The food was very nice. One of the things I love about here is the amazing drinks they serve - today I had a "virgin" raspberry mojito - with fresh raspberries - yummy!!
We spent the afternoon working in a cafe putting together the findings of our work here - a big job as we have interviewed so many people and have so many ideas.
In the evening, I was very lucky to be invited to a performance of the Ural Philharmonic Orchestra playing tunes from the opera. One of the other teams had been given tickets by their clients and they had a spare one!!
It was a great performance - included vocalists as well as the orchestra.
One of the things I really liked was that instead of being seated in rows we were at round tables ... and we were given a bottle of red wine, a bottle of sparking mineral water and a box of chocolates.
The music/voices were astounding - made your spine tingle. I wish I could have recorded it as it is very hard to explain what it was like.
The Philharmonic Hall where the concert was held was built in 1917 and contains a huge German pipe organ that weight 22 tons.
